The rumoured relationship between Shakira and Lewis Hamilton has undoubtedly been the talk of the town. Questions are rife regarding the nature of their bond – whether it’s a mere friendship or something more profound.
Jordi Martin, a journalist with strong connections to the Colombian singer after many years of following Shakira’s career, divulged potential details of the budding romance between the artist and the Formula 1 racer on the TV show “Amor y Fuego”. The duo have been spotted together on multiple occasions recently – dining, yachting with friends, and even at Grand Prix races, where “kisses and cuddles” were reportedly exchanged post-race in the paddock.
During his appearance on the show, Martin reported that sources close to Shakira had suggested she mentioned wanting to date a ‘darker-skinned man’ and not wanting to ‘try a white guy’ anymore. He also mentioned that the pair are allegedly taking things slow in their relationship, with their inner circle being privy to the knowledge.
“I’ve met some of Shakira’s close ones this week, and they mentioned that she’s excited and happy,” said the photographer.
Recently, El Pais published snippets from Shakira’s statements from her possible tax evasion case. In these excerpts, she openly discusses her tumultuous relationship with her former partner Gerard Pique. She acknowledged their lifestyles were akin to ‘mixing oil and water’ due to their differing professional schedules.
“We had a hard time understanding each other, and I hope this doesn’t leak to the press. During pregnancy, I worked for 14 hours a day, even performing on stage with my baby bump, which probably looked ridiculous,” Shakira admitted.
She further accused the Spanish tax authorities of sexism, insinuating that they assumed Shakira had to relocate to Spain because she had a child with a Spanish partner.
“It’s a backward and somewhat sexist perspective,” she commented. “To think that because a woman has a child with a Spaniard, she should automatically adopt the traditional family concept.”
She went on to clarify her unwillingness to move to Spain, despite considering it a beautiful country. The reason, she pointed out, was that Spain is not the hub of the music industry, and living there could pose a significant compromise to her professional success, given the limited access to top-tier artistic production primarily available in the United States.
